Dance Truck Performance! Thursday, March 3 at 11:45pm Basement Theatre

The fine folks at the Basement Theatre have invited Dance Truck to perform at Spontaneous Combustion, an Improv Comedy Festival. Our performance will take place in the parking lot of the Basement Theatre, just off of Roswell Road at 175 West Wieuca Rd. NE Atlanta, GA 30342

Stephen Wood and Dance Truck


Remember when the Stephen Wood Ensemble played at 'American Muscle' at Eyedrum last September? You can hear more music from that magic piano man this Friday, when Dance Truck pulls up to the Atlanta Contemporary Art Center for a FREE show.

In between dance acts, we'll be playing music from his CD 'Inaudible'. Stephen Wood Ensemble CD's will be for sale, along with Dance Truck hoodies and bake sale goodies.

Stephen Wood has been leading his own modern jazz ensemble for the past 10 years. During this time Stephen has gained experience in composing large and small "jazz" compositions, arranging for almost every possible combination of jazz instruments from duos to tenets, transposing for every instrument, leading and conducting rehearsals, performing on stages from dive bars to large festivals to society parties, and booking and managing tours.

Free Poems on Demand is a group of local poets spreading the love of language and play. Their performances aim to create public scenes of unexpected intimacy, interaction, and fun. By writing free poems on any topic for anyone who asks, they have engaged audiences at events such as Chomp & Stomp, the Decatur Book Festival, and East Atlanta Village Strut. Onur Topal-Sümer takes the Dance Truck Stage


Check out this dynamic dancer this Friday, 7p-9p at Dance Truck at the Contemporary! The show is Free and Fun!


Onur Topal-Sümer is originally from Istanbul, Türkiye. She started her dance training with classical ballet at an age of 4. During her studies and professional dance life she's had the privillage to work with both Turkish and international artists and choreographers. Onur is the “Dance Camera Istanbul” International Dance Film&Photography Festival director and teaches contemporary dance, ballet, improvisation, pilates, dance for camera & creates multimedia projects as an independent artist. She currently dances with Atlanta based modern dance company Full Radius Dance and always looks for the opportunities to be inspired, create and collaborate with the other artists.

Lori Teague is an independent choreographer and an associate professor of dance at Emory University. Her investigations in movement often emerge from the social and psychological features of human behavior. Sh
...e enjoys the unknown and the collaborative nature of dance making, which is inherent in site-specific work . She trains artists to teach in under-served communities, serves as the program chair for Moving in the Spirit, a youth development program, and she co-directs The Dancing Flowers for Peace, a new peace movement for women over 40.

On the Road Valentine's Weekend

Dance Truck is being presented by the Atlanta Contemporary Art Center on Friday, 2/11.

Artists include Free Poems on Demand, DE, Corian Ellisor, Lori Teague, Onur Topal-Sumer, and Stephen Wood.


And The Layman Group will be presenting Dance Truck at their Carnivale Valentine's Masquerade Ball in Auburn, Alabama on 2/12.

Artists include Helen Hale, Jhon R. Stronks with Corian Ellisor, and Blake Beckham. We are bringing Jess Bollaert + Thom Eddleman from Jackson, Mississippi! Doc Waller, Execuitve Artistic Director of the Layman Group, will curate 2 additional choreographers from Alabama.

DE featured at the Contemporary


Edilburga Gonzalez is Chicana born in Austell Georgia. As a self taught performer, choreographer, dancer, and costume designer; she creates extremely colorful environments to recreate the vibrancy of both her Mexican and American cultures.

As an educator and artist Andy Imm illustrates the ability to reveal the social acculturation that affects us all. With his research and interactive technology, he expresses the harmony of math and art offering an experiential and collaborative edification, enhancing the life-long learning process.

Together Andy and Edie form DE. Their collaborations have included works for Eyedrum, Mint, and now Dance Truck.
